Engaging and working with micro-businesses

Despite the fact that around 1 in 3 of all UK job vacancies are in micro-businesses – those who employ fewer than ten people – there is a lack of involvement with them from learning providers, meaning a huge number of people are missing out on training and skills development opportunities.

NIACE is holding a training course – Engaging and working with micro-businesses – which will introduce delegates to the unique nature of micro-businesses and to the range of approaches required to help them see the many benefits of learning for their staff. Where micro-businesses have been successfully engaged, numerous job opportunities have been opened up for unemployed learners and local micro-businesses have been helped to prosper and expand.

As well as covering delivery of pre-employment training, Apprenticeships and work-based training for micro-businesses, this training course will also help providers to consider the cost-effectiveness for their organisation of engaging with micro-businesses.
