Supporting providers to develop better safeguarding practice

29th October 2013

NIACE has launched a short survey to find out what staff working in education and training need to help them develop better safeguarding practice. The survey will be open until 10pm on Friday 29 November 2013.

Until the survey results are in, NIACE is offering:

  • Safeguarding information, resources and news on its Healthy FE website
  • Safeguarding training on 13 November – An overview and update for education and training providers
  • A webinar on 14 November – Engaging learners in safeguarding
  • A webinar on 12 December – Embedding safeguarding in teaching, learning and assessment

NIACE’s first ever webinar held in October to mark World Mental Health Day – Safeguarding and suicide – can now be accessed for free on YouTube. It features Sarah Outram, the Mental Health Coordinator at Loughborough College, sharing her experience of what proactive providers are doing to help deal with and prevent suicide. The webinar and supporting resources are designed to be practically useful – especially at the beginning of a new academic year.
