Carers Rights Day 2016

24th November 2016

Today is Carers Rights Day, when organisations across the country help carers to understand their rights and the support they are entitled to.

We have long campaigned to ensure that young adult carers have the same access and rights to education and work as everyone else. We do this by raising awareness of young adult carers and the challenges they face, by working with Government and campaigning for changes to policy, and by improving practice and support for young adult carers in education and work.

Our current Positive Career Choices project will help young adult carers understand their rights in relation to education and work, and will support them to learn, gain skills, develop ambitions and pursue a career. We also have a huge number of resources to help learning providers, employers and carers services improve their support for young adult carers.
