Supporting learners through the advanced learner loans process
Learning and Work was commissioned by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills and the Skills Funding Agency to explore providers' and learners' experience of 24+ Advanced Learner Loans.
Our report has been designed to illustrate how learning providers have been successful in promoting loan funded learning and have successfully supported learners in navigating the application process. We also offer recommendations on how learners can be better supported. In particular, we look at:
- Information and support for learners
- Working with key partners
- Supporting learners to make informed decisions
- Supporting learners through the process.
As part of this work, we also developed a number of resources for learners, which will be available on the National Careers Service website. These include:
A short guide to funding your learning – what to think about and where to find help?
A comparison of different ways to fund your learning
