Become a supporter
Learning and Work Institute supporters are people or organisations dedicated to increasing learning, skills and employment opportunities who want to show their support and be involved in our mission.
It’s free to become a supporter. We want it to be a two-way process: making sure you’re up to date and get an early look at our work and latest developments; and utilising your expertise to help shape what we do.
Our supporter network replaces our membership, and we welcome all L&W members to continue your relationship with us as a supporter. Sign up to our Welsh supporter network here.
What we do
We develop ideas for learning, skills and employment. We led a campaign for a successor to European Social Fund. We made the case for extra investment in adult basic skills. We gathered the views of experts on improving the quality of and access to apprenticeships.
We support providers and practitioners. We helped the Greater London Authority map ESOL provision for Syrian refugees. We developed a Learning, Work and Wellbeing toolkit for providers working with young adult carers. We’ve established a Better Work network to share best practice in helping people progress from low pay.
Our analysis helps understand what works. We publish a monthly analysis of the latest labour market data. We run a regular survey looking at adult participation in learning. We evaluate programmes, such as West London’s Skills Escalator. We research employer capacity for providing T Level work placements and the support they would need.
