Senior Skills Policy Adviser (British Army)

Learning and Work Institute has worked closely with the British Army’s education directorate for more than fifteen years. We work with them to expand and improve education and training opportunities for all Service personnel, to ensure they have the skills required for their time in the Army, whilst equipping them for their future transition back into civilian life.

Working in partnership with our Programme Manager (based at British Army HQ in Andover), you will be responsible for providing specialist adult learning support for the implementation, evaluation and improvement of skills development across the British Army. You will also work closely with L&W colleagues, including the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, to progress the national skills agenda, which will enhance the provision of specialist skills policy advice and support you give to the British Army.

This is an exciting and demanding role which requires expertise in education and skills policy and workforce development. The post holder must have excellent communication skills, the ability to interpret complex information for a variety of audiences, and the credibility and gravitas to form and maintain networks with senior military and civilian colleagues, officials and stakeholders.

Knowledge and experience of working in an Armed Forces or Ministry of Defence environment is desirable but not essential.
